Child Abuse Prevention Action Team

The Child Abuse Prevention Team received feedback throughout the Commonwealth related to chronic-stress, vicarious trauma, and burnout within our child welfare system. To support county Children and Youth Agencies, a Trauma-Informed Roundtable Guided Discussion was developed in collaboration with the Department of Human Services and provided to pilot counties.

In collaboration with the Policy and Legislation Action Team, the Child Abuse Prevention Action Team has worked to advocate for the confirmation of an Office of the Child Advocate for Pennsylvania and is proud to now have a co-sponsorship memo in the PA Senate and HB2913 sponsored in the PA House of Representatives..

Throughout the HEAL PA Trauma-Informed Lunch Hour Series, the Child Abuse Prevention Action Team provides information on the prevelance and impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences on Pennsylvania's public health. We use these platforms to communicate the evidence that Child Abuse is our nations leading public health crisis.
